Hope is a Discipline of Faith II

The painting inspires the viewer to turn inward towards the private work required to sustain hope and faith. The spiraling form draws the eye towards the center to describe a journey through uncertainty, reflection and transformation. Hope is not waiting outside of us. It must be found beneath fear, grief and exhaustion in the innermost places where faith is tested.

The center of the spiral has an embryo-like shape. Despite the chaos that surrounds us, life continues to form. It is vulnerable and unfinished but alive. The painting considers hope as a return to what is becoming and faith as the decision to protect the possibility before there is proof of what it will become.
