Hope is not passive optimism. It is a state of being that must be deliberately built and sustained. The angular forms in the piece create a structure that appears rigid, protective and unwavering. Beneath the architectural elements, curved lines move with fluidity to contrast the relationship between discipline, hope and faith.

Discipline gives hope a form to endure. Hope requires openness, adaptation and movement. Faith must remain steady even when the world becomes fractured or uncertain. The piece asks us what we must construct within ourselves and our communities to continue to believe in a future we cannot yet see.
